A Student's Workspace Organization Checklist

Go ahead!  Check it off if you have it. Circle it if you need it!

·     Workspace – a desk or table wide enough to accommodate a notebook, textbook, laptop, and notebook paper

·     Bulletin Board – large enough to post important papers, a calendar, memos and reminders

·     Calendar (large enough to write down projects and due dates)  Dry erase calendars are good

·     Trash can

·     Pens, sharpened pencils, markers, and highlighters and a mug or glass to keep them handy

·     Pencil sharpener

·     3-hole punch – heavy duty kind

·     Post-it notes

·     Index cards (3x5 and 4x6) and box (a small shoe box works)

·     Stapler and scissors

·     Flash drive/pin drive

·     Notebooks with inside pockets (Get a few extra notebooks to keep on hand) prefer 1½ inch – 2 in.

·     Double pocket plastic dividers with tabs (very important)

·     White board, eraser, and dry erase markers  (11” x 16”)

·     Computer and printer   IMPORTANT: Make sure the printer works

·     Computer paper

·     File drawer or portable file box

·     Shelves for textbooks, notebooks, novels, reference books placed close to the workspace(s)
